Mobile Medical Units

The Mobile Medical Units (MMU) are available anytime and anywhere in emergency situations.
The MMU can be used in emergency situations caused by natural catastrophes and disasters, to bridge the absence of sanitary installations temporary out of operation or damaged and for preventive health care campaigns aimed at specific population groups.

The MMU can be utilised as completely independent units or they may form a pool of MMU. In comparison with a traditional field hospital the use of the MMU offers important advantages in any ambient condition:
  • A high degree of flexibility either used as a single unit or in a pool
  • A high degree of mobility in any kind of terrain
  • An immediate installation and set-up into operation
  • Lower operational and maintenance costs.
In addition to the good mobility and flexibility, indispensable for any type of use, the MMU built by Swisel are also very reliable in any operation configuration and offer highly specialised functions.

The mobile units, installed in standard ISO 20' shelters, (proofed with specific MIL standards and conform to standards for health care facilities), include all basic functions of a complete and functional mobile sanitary set-up:

      		•  The modularity of the MMU allows transport with every means: motor vehicle (also in offroad conditions), rail, airplane, helicopter and ship.

      The MMU use a transportable device for moving the shelter. The lifting legs of this device can be pulled out and enable quick and safe manoeuvres from the platform of the truck to the ground and vice versa as well as perfectly levelling the shelter for operation purposes on any kind of terrain. In general, two operators can perform these operations.
